William Ritchie was born on 12 Sept 1799^[1] in Perthshire, Scotland.^[2]

Note: There is a William Ritchie, b. 15 Sept 1799 in Methven, Perthshire, Scotland, whose father was James Ritchie.^[3] This could be the same person.

Based on the fact that David Ritchie was born in British Guyana, a marriage was found for William Blackely Ritchie, M.A. He married Anne Sibbald on 17 May 1836 at Georgetown.
