Biography

Margaret Jane Ritchie was born in 1865 at Derrygowan, Duneane, County Antrim. She was the daughter of Robert Richey and his second wife, Mary Ann Boyd.[1]

Margaret Jane Ritchie married Henry John Kyle in 1896 at Craigs Parish Church, Craigs, County Antrim.[2]

It is likely that most of Margaret's immediate family had emigrated to Canada by the time she was married.

Henry and Margaret Kyle had at least one child, Robert John Kyle (b. 1899). They did not appear in the 1901 Ireland census and may have been visiting family in Canada at the time.

In the 1911 Ireland census, Mary (sic) Jane Kyle was age 40, living at Bracknamuckley, Portglenone, County Antrim with her husband Henry John Kyle (35), a farmer, and son Robert John Kyle (11).[3]

Henry John Kyle of Bracknamuckley died in 1934.

Margaret Jane Kyle died in 1943 and her death was registered in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.[4]
