"son of Aaron Rittenhouse and Martha Baker; husband of Addie A Delavergn

"John N Rittenhouse, aged 73, died at his home in Glyndon, Sparta township, at 7:30 pm Tuesday after an illness of more than a year. His wife died on Jan 31, 1945. He leaves the following children: Harry and Albert Rittenhouse of Venango, Mrs Marvin Miller of Glyndon, Leonard Rittenhouse of Mt Alton and Charles Rittenhouse at home. There are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Torrey funeral home in Spartansburg, where friends may call and where services will be conducted at 2 pm Friday. Rev Edward Armitage of the Spartansburg Methodist church will officiate and interment will be in the Whitney cemetery." (Titusville Herald, Dec 24, 1947, p. 7)"
