Biography

Anastasie Ritter, daughter of Honore Ritter and Marie Magdeleine Jeansonne, was born about February 1804 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, USA.[1]

She first married Francois Fontenot, son of Francois Fontenot and Mariane Materne, on 30 November 1818 in St. Landry Parish.[2]

Anastasie and Francois had the following known children:[3]

  1. Francois Fontenot, b. 4 Sep 1820
  2. Adele Fontenot, b. 12 Jan 1822
  3. Clara Fontenot, b. 12 Jan 1824
  4. Irma Fontenot, b. 25 Mar 1826

Anastasie was widowed by 1827.[4] She next married Michel Bogard, son of Joseph Bogard and Manette Roy, on 5 July 1827.[5]

Anastasie and Michel had these known children:[6]

  2. Irene Bogard, b. 11 Feb 1832[7]
  3. Octavie Bogard, b. 24 Sep 1836[8]
  4. Henri Bogard, b. about 1842[9]

  7. Cezaire Bogard, b. 20 Apr 1851[12]

The Bogard family was shown on the 1860 census in Opelousas.[9] By 1880, Anastasie was widowed and living with her son "Dueroisel" at Chataigner in St. Landry Parish.[13]

Rider Ritter-3 and Ritter-3 appear to represent the same person because: same name; same spouse Michel Bogard/Beaugard who is also duplicated and a merge proposal has been made. Ritter-3 should be retained as the final LNAB. All information from Rider_Ritter-3 should be retained.
