Hi Justin,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.

It looks like German Roots Project would be a good fit with the Surname tag and comment you entered. If you'll add a tag for "german_roots," you will get updates about activity for that project.

Have questions? We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Justin do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | sk-2 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively and intermediate Slovak, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

Thanks for volunteering, Justin! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community.

Your next step is to reread and sign the Honor Code. Here's how to use WikiTree.

If you feel lost, ask a question in our G2G forum. Most WikiTree members are happy to help a fellow genealogist.

Here's the G2G Question of the Week: What are your favorite areas of genealogy research?

If you want even more to do, check out these volunteer options.

Hi again Justin,

Can you please give us an idea of the surnames, and/or the areas of interest you would like to follow.

The TAGS are used to help others find any possible connections to your family.

One of our volunteers will be happy to make you a full member once you update your TAGs.

Thanks for using WikiTree to grow your family tree.

Hello Justin,

Welcome to WikiTree. By now you should have received an email with helpful links to get you started on adding your family to ours.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Happy Hunting,

Jess
