Biography
OBITUARY: Fermin Rivera, loving husband, father, son and grandfather, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the age of 86.
Fermin was very proud of being in the United States Army in the 2nd Infantry Division. While serving his country he received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star.
Fermin loved fishing and hunting.
Fermin was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne R. Rivera.
Fermin is survived by his loving wife, Irene Rivera, two sons, Patrick Rivera and Gilbert Rivera and one daughter, Shirley Rivera. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host relatives and friends. Visitations will take place at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to follow 10:30 a.m. with the communion service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Rivera, Nicholas Rivera, A. J. Chavez, Stephanie Valencia, Amanda Chavez and Alyssa Chavez.
