I have merged the profiles for Mary Rivers Bowers! Feel free to add anything to these profiles! You seem to have more information on them than I do! Thanks

Jay, thank you for that little bit of information on Philadelphia Mixon Rivers father. I did not have that.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Looking for a specific person? Try under “find” and enter the name you are looking for (with dates if you have them).

It is very important to you (and to others) that you include as much bio info about each individual as possible & don’t forget the need for sources. You will come to appreciate the need for this background info and sources as you continue with WikiTree. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. John Beeson WikiTree Mentor

I see where you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

Hi Jay

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

Hi there, I'm new to WikiTree, and I don't really know much about how it works, but I'd be interested in contributing to a shared tree, for sure. I do agree with the mission at WikiTree, and I'm willing to abide by the nine rules. Although my first efforts at uncovering my family history were filled with errors and inaccuracies I do strive to be more careful now and to be as systematic and thorough, as I can be. I'm also a cooperative researcher, as I find that being cooperative, sharing, is what genealogy is all about. Thanks for all that you do.

I noticed you uploaded or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's two links :

1) Before Importing a gedcom

2) link to the process. Feel free to message me if you have any questions! TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree. Before creating a new profile, use the "search function" up on top to see if your ancestor is already here. Maggie

Welcome to WikiTree as a guest !

If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search function at the top of the profile page or ask at G2G. If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being a full member, leave us a message here letting us know that you read Volunteers at WikiTree

Once we see a message on your profile stating why you want to be a part of our collaborative genealogical community, one of our greeters will confirm you .

Have a great day ! Maggie
