Biography

Most likely birth place for George is Prince George County, just like his siblings. Earliest known reference for him being in Brunswick County is a 1746 Indenture[1] mentioning his father's will in Prince George County. George was already married to Sarah by then, and her father Henry Cook witnessed this indenture. No indication that George's father Col. William ever lived on his land in Brunswick. (Dinwiddie County was later formed from part of Prince George closest to Brunswick, but this was not until 1752. Exactly where Col. William's land was located has not been determined.)

Deeds

Wit: Burrel Brown, William Wommack, Henry Cooke, Absolam Atkison. Proved 5 Mar 1746. Probate indicates that Sarah the wife of sd George Reives relinquished her right of dower.” [2]

Daughter Ann married a Peeples (sp. varies greatly). Her husband was likely related to John Peoples/Peebles for whom Geo. Rives WITNESSED an indenture in 1747. Researching the Peoples family is beyond my scope of research, but I did not find an existing profile here that matches Ann.
