Pauline Rivet is one of twins.
Pauline Rivet, daughter of Elias Rivet and Magdeleine Lambert, was born on 29 June 1827 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. She was baptized on 22 February 1829 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Plattenville. Her godparents were Jean Materre and Justine Clarisse Martin. Pauline had a twin brother, Paul, who was baptized at the same time.
She married Jean Gentry, son of Francois Gentry and Jeanne Gagnerot, on 15 January 1852 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in St. Gabriel, Iberville Parish. Witnesses were P P. Jmmz [?], Tre.[?] Lauty, and N. Gaillard.
No additional records have been found for either Pauline or Jean.
Records have shown his LNAB as Jeantrid, Jeantry, and Gentry. Records also exist for a brother, showing surname as Gentry. The spelling of GENTRY seems more likely, but additional research in the French records may clarify the correct spelling.
A brief search was conducted of the French 10-year tables 1813-1832 at Departement de la Gironde, searching in the "Blaye" and "Blaye-et-Sainte-Luce" locations. Some similar names were found, including Jeanty, Jeantet, Gantret; these have not been followed up in the registers to determine if there is a relationship to Jean Gentry.
