Marie Adea Rivette, daughter of Isidore Helie Rivet and Carmelite Bermeyo, was born on 2 April 1851 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, United States.
She was baptized on 28 April 1851 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, Assumption Parish. Her godparents were Sostin Simoneaux and Elisa Esteve.[1]
She was enumerated at Paincourtville with her parents and siblings during the 1860 census at age 8 years.[2]
She married Alexis Landry, son of Belisere Landry and Arthemise Leblanc, in Iberia Parish. They applied for a marriage license on 5 April 1870 in New Iberia,[3][4]
and were wed on 28 April 1870 in Lydia.[5]
They had the following known children:
Adea, Alexis, and their children were enumerated on a farm in Iberia Parish during the 1880 census.[6]
The 1900 census described their farm as being located in Patoutville.[7]
By 1910, they owned at home in Rayne, Acadia Parish.[8]
Adea was widowed in 1922.[9]
She died at age 78 on 10 May 1929 in Iberia Parish.[10][11][12]
She was buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery No. 1 (old cemetery) in Rayne. Her grave is located in Section 3.[12][11]
