Biography

Rita Therese Rivette, daughter of Alcee Rivette and Celina LaHaye, was born on 10 February 1923 in Leonville, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, United States.^[1][2] She was enumerated with her parents during the 1930 and 1940 censuses, living in St. Landry Parish.^[3][4] She completed four years of high school education.^[4]

Rita married Walter Joseph Lalonde on 5 September 1940 in Leonville, shortly after the census was taken.^[5] They had four children, all born in Leonville.^[6] Rita and Walter appear to have stayed in St. Landry Parish all their lives.^[7][8][9]

She was widowed in 1993.^[1] Rita died ten years later at age 80, on 25 October 2003, at J. Michael Morrow nursing home in Arnaudville.^[10][11][12] She was buried at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery in Leonville.^[2]
