Bandmaster Lucillo Rizzi was born in Novara, Italy 20 October 1889. According to the parish record for Göteborg Vasa his parents were Ulderico (Rizzi) and Clementina Ribora. Lucillo Rizzi was an Italian citizen and a catholic. He seems to have been transferred from Johanneberg parish in 1932, so he presumably arrived to Sweden earlier. He was married at the time, but his wife is not with him. He moved to Örgryte parish in 1933.[1]
In Örgryte he is listed among foreign citizens. There is a note about paternity with a page reference. It is also noted that he is a married man, although the marriage date and the name of the wife are not known.[2]
Elsa Bergman had at least three children with bandmaster Lucillo Rizzi, who had a wife in Italy that he could not divorce, since he was a catholic. She was registered with her parents in Halmstad when the first two children were born and then moved to Varberg in 1933.[3] Their daughter Renée was born in January 1928 in Falun[4] - she was presumably following Rizzi on a tour. Her second child was born in Varberg, but it is uncertain if she ever resided there, because she is in Göteborg with the children at least from May 1933.[5] From December 1933 to August 1934 Elsa and Lucillo lived in Nödinge, near Göteborg. From there they moved to Mariestad.[6] In 1939 they arrived in Halmstad from Vänersborg.[7]
Lucillo Rizzi died in Uddevalla 6 October 1957.[8]
