James Roach was born in Wales.

James Roach was born about 1849 in Fishguard, South Wales. the son of Thomas and Margaret Roach. [1]

James, a boatman, married Celia McCann on 15 May 1875 at the Office of the Registrar of Marriages in Auckland, NZ by John Muir Wayland in the presence of John Copeland, a boatman, of Auckland and his wife Ellen. [2] [1]

James passed away in 1898 at his home on Union Street, Auckland, NZ of cancer of the liver. He was buried on 25 August 1898 at the Otahuhu Cemetery in Auckland, NZ. [3]
