William Roach
A former leader in church and fraternal order activities in Rockville, Ind., William Roach, 73, of 4207 Northcote avenue, East Chicago, died yesterday in St. Catherine’s hospital.
His body will be sent today to Rockville for services and burial Saturday afternoon.
Roach is survived by his widow, Lillie; a daughter, Mrs. Homer Rohm, with whom he had lived for the past month; two brothers, David of Terre Haute and James of Rockville; three sisters, Mrs. Gray Potter and Mrs. Nell Gibson of Greencastle and Mrs. Nora Harlan of Rockville, and a grandson, Billy Rohm.
He was a member of the board of trustees of the Rockville Methodist church and formerly was an active member of the Odd Fellow’s lodge of Rockville. He was born in Putnam county Oct. 20, 1870. The Fife funeral home is in charge.

Local Man Expires Wed. In East Chicago Hospital; Rites To Be Here
William Roach, 73 years of age, well known man passed away at 3:20 o’clock, Wednesday morning at the St. Catherine hospital in East Chicago.
The deceased was born on Oct. 20, 1870 in Putnam county near Morton, but spent most of his life in Parke county. His lifetime occupations was farming, but for six years he operated a building material business on the south side of the square.
On October 13, 1895 he was married to Lillie May Shonkwiler who survives.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge, the board of trustees of the Methodist church, a former town board member, former director of the Parke State Bank; and a member of the Adams township advisory board.
Besides the widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Homer Rohm of East Chicago; a grandson, William Homer Rohm; two brothers, James Roach, Vivalia, and David Roach, Terre Haute; three sisters, Nora Harlan of Rockville, Nellie Gibson and Margaret Potter, both of Greencastle.
Two[?] children died in infancy and a son, Noble, died in December 1931.
The body was brought to the Barnes Mortuary and later returned to the residence here. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev. R. Richmond Blake officiating. Burial will be made in Rockville cemetery.

WILLIAM ROACH, PROMINENT ROCKVILLE MAN, SUCCUMBS
William Roach, whose critical illness was mentioned last week, died in the early hours of Wednesday morning, in an East Chicago hospital.
Mr. Roach was 73 years old and was born in Union township, the son of Thomas and Mary Roach. He was married in 1895 to Lilly May Shonkwiler.
During the early years of his life Mr. Roach was active as a farmer and live stock breeder[sic]. He moved with his family to Rockville in 1906, but always retained his interest in farming. After his retirement from the lime and cement business in which he was engaged for a number of years, he devoted himself to managing his farm.
Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Rohm of East Chicago; a grandson William Rohm; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Harlan of Union township, Mrs. Nellie Gibson of Putnam county and Mrs. Margaret Potter of Greencastle; two brothers, David Roach of Terre Haute and James Roach of Jackson township. A son, Noble Roach, died several years ago.
Funeral services will be held in the Rockville Methodist church of which he was a faithful member, Saturday afternoon. In charge of Rev. R. Richmond Blake. Burial will be in Rockville cemetery.

William Roach, age 70 years, brother of Mrs. Margaret Potter and Mrs. Nellie Gibson of this city, died Wednesday at east Chicago, where he had gone for a visit with his daughter, Mrs. Homer Rhon[sic].
The funeral services will be held there Saturday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. Richmond Blake officiating. Burial will be in the Rockville cemetery.
Besides the sister living here, Mr. Roach is surivived by the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Rhon[sic], two brothers, James Roach of this county and David Roach of Terre Haute, and a sister, Mrs. Nora Harlan of Rockville.
