Biography

Poseyville News dated December 26, 1919: Wm. Press Robb passed away Thursday night of last week at home in Stewartsville. William P. Robb, of Stewartsville, a prominent farmer and stock raiser of Posey county died at 10 o'clock Thursday night after a long illness, aged 57 years. He was the youngest of 11 children of the late John W. Robb. He leaves a wife and six children, two of whom were by his first marriage. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday at the home in Stewartsville. Burial will be in the Stewartsville cemetery. Mr. Robb was educated in the public schools of Stewartsville and afterwards attended a business college in Evansville, where he graduated with honor. He clerked in his father's general store until of age when he was taken in the busines as a partner, remaining five years. The greater part of his life was spent in Stewartsville though for a time he was a resident of Evansville. Of late years he has devoted his time to the superintending of his farms. Mr. Robb was twice married and he leaves to mourn his departure a widow and four sons, Malcolm, Robert, Frank, and John also a son and daughter by his former marriage, Mrs. Bessie Polk, of Louisville, Ky., and Ralph Robb, of Stewartsville, four grandchildren, two brothers, Tom Robb of Owensville, and Aaron Robb, and also three sisters, Mrs. Ida Hyne, of Louisiana, Mrs. America Carr, of California, Mrs. Alice Kelly, of New Harmony, and many other relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Stewartsville cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
