Biography

At this time, it is not know where or when Daniel was born. [His son Philip is age 65 on 1850 census, so born circa 1785. With that in mind (and Philip being the oldest child), it seems that Daniel wouldn't have been born prior to the early 1760s. By 1792 they were selling land and she was listed as his wife [5]. [Note: Daniel does have a female and two males under 16 in his household on the 1790 census.] They lived in Washington County, Nottingham Township, Pennsylvania for a while and then moved to Allegheny County, Mifflin Township, Pennsylvania by the 1790 U.S. Census [4]. By 1797 they had moved to Adams County, Ohio [6]. Four of their children were born in Pennsylvania and three were born in Ohio. By October 7, 1844, Daniel had died and his sons were listed as heirs on a land deed [17].

NOTE: Daniel Robbins has been proven for Society of the Families of the Old Northwest Territory (Ohio Genealogical Society).

I descend from Vincent G. Robbins whose father died around 1780 in Washington County, PA. I suspect that Daniel & John are either brothers or cousins. Daniel ended up in Adams County Ohio while Vincent G and his sister Azubia Washburn lived in the same place that became Brown County, Oh. I studied my ancestry DNA connections with the name of Thatcher. I had quite a few and they led back to Bartholomew Thatcher supposed father of Azubia Thatcher Robbins who was married to Isaac Robbins. Isaac Died in 1741 and had 3-4 unnamed children on his will. I believe that Vincent G's father was Isaac Robbins 1735 ?- 1780. I have a court record for Vincent G naming his father as Isaac Robbins from Nottingham PA. It has long been suspected from Lou Ann Winterrowd and I believe she is correct...

I believe that this Daniel Robbins from Nottingham Washington County PA is a brother to Vincent Robbins and Azubia Robbins Washburn who lived in nearby Brown County around 1810. This Vincent Robbins is the same who was married to Charity Ryker in 1787 but separated around 1798 when she had three more children with Hugh Conway. There was Vincent and another brother James in Byrd township around 1812-1815. Vincent had 4 more children including my 3rd Great Grand father Peter Robbins 1810-1892 in Brown county. I do not know who Peter's mother was but 3 out 4 married into the Barngrover and Bingaman families in Scott Township in the early 1830's.
