Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1819. She was the daughter of David Robe and Elizabeth Baldwin. She died in 1905. She was a stalwart member of the Presbyterian Church.

In the 1860 Census for Liberty Township, Adams, Ohio she is named as Isabelle Alexander.[1]

In the 1900 Census, Elizabeth says she is the mother of 5, 4 now living. William is the one who died young.[3]

In the family Bible of William and Jane [McCutcheon] Howland was found the obituary of Elizabeth Robe Alexander (found by Robert Eugene Howland, per a letter to Margaret Ann Robe from his wife Betty Anna 7 Oct 1988).

ELIZABETH ROBE ALEXANDER Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander died September 10, 1905. She was the daughter of David Robe and was born in this county February 4, 1819. She was married to Samuel Alexander on September 4, 1845, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1898. After their marriage, they settled on a farm near Eckmansville where they lived the rest of their lives. Both were members of the Presbyterian Church in that village.[4]
