Mary Lloyd Steele genealogy (p. 39 of Currey-Barker-Baldwin genealogy) names fourteen children: Minnie J. Essie E. (I think she and Esther are the same), William, Clarence, Washington, Florence, Esther, Elizabeth, Clara, and five who died in infancy.
Clara E. Robe Pospesel added "The Family Record of David Rawles Robe and Esther Ann Robe" to the typewritten Mary Lloyd Steele genealogy, copy sent to Robe-79 by Miriam Mount 10 Oct 2001. Miriam Mount recollected this about David: "My grandpa David Robe was a tall, kindly guy. Although
he died when I was quite small, I remember how he used to carry mints around in his pocket for me. He was a child during the Civil War, but there is an interesting story about how he resisted soldiers attempting to commandeer his dad's horse. His name is passed on in my own family in each generation.[2]
