Biography
Charles Henry was born in 1885. His birth was registered in Middlesbrough and his Mother's maiden name was Bason. [1]
Charles' father William had a Wife, Elizabeth but took her daughter (his step daughter) Agnes as his lover and had a family with her. The Census returns claim either Elizabeth or Agnes was William's wife.
In 1891 Charles was living with his family in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. His father William was an ironworker. Although 'wife' Elizabeth, who had been blind since birth, was given the age 43, she was actually 63. Charles's actual mother, Agnes was listed as a daughter of William, she was actually his partner and step daughter. [2] (Are you keeping up?)
In 1901 Charles was an 'inmate' at the Adel Eastmooe Reformatory School [3]
In 1909 Charles Henry married Edith Hicks. Their marriage was registered in Middlesbrough [4] and in 1911 the couple were living at 11 Harford St, Parliament Rd, Middlesbrough and Charles was a Coke Oven labourer. Their daughter Dinah and Edith's father Richard lived with them. [5]
Charles Henry died aged 48 in 1933. HIs death was registered in Middlesbrough. [6]
