Biography

William was born after 1693. He passed away after 1732. He is listed as William Roberts and was a descendant of William Roberts who came from Ireland to the area that later became New Haven, Conn. William Roberts I was born in 1617 in British Isles and died Aug. 6, 1689 in Milford New Haven Conn. William Roberts III's father was also William Roberts who was born August 24, 1663 and who married Elizabeth Lobdill? on Aug. 6, 1689. William Roberts III died in the Watauga Settlement that became Sullivan Co. TN.

William was born about 1732. He passed away after 1816.

William was born about 1726. He passed away after 1791.

His relatives were William, John, Henry and David Roberts. I believe this William Roberts was father to John Roberts Sr. [b. 1753] of Pipe Creek Maryland and grandfather of John Roberts Jr. who was born at Pipe Creek Maryland in 1773.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Roberts-26094 and Roberts-10994 do not represent the same person because: Definitely different men. One is my direct, the other is NO RELATION to me so I am fairly familiar with them.

If you merge the records it will have 2 sets of grandparents. The managers of the profiles are trying to confirm which set of grandparents are correct. No one seems to have documented proiof.

I have recently learned that William Roberts [b. 1617 and d. 1689] my ancestor, lived in New Haven, CT. He had daughter, Elizabeth [b. 1650 d. 1722] who married John Beecher, son of Isaac and Mary Beecher. These two were parents of Samuel Beecher [b. 1687] who m. Hannah Farrington and they were parents to Abigail [Beecher] Hitchcock. Abigail married Jonathan Hitchcock and I very closely dna connect to one Hickok who lived in New Haven CT. These Hickoks were related to Wild Bill Hickok. Still searching for answers

Roberts-18439 and Roberts-38616 do not represent the same person because: Different parents and wrong age

Roberts-18439 and Roberts-38616 appear to represent the same person because: Elisha Walling Sr. only had one daughter who married a William Roberts. If the William Roberts born in Connecticut is the correct spouse of Elizabeth Wallen/Walling, then these profiles should be merged and the discrepancies between the profiles resolved based on the available sources.
