Biography

Carol was born May 1934 in Tampa, Florida to Hilton Roberts and and Rose Curry. Her childhood was spent between Tampa and Key West. She moved to Atlanta to attend Crawford W. Long Nursing School and later worked as a nurse on and off for 40 years at Crawford W. Long Hospital.

She married Robert M. Lawrence in 1956 and raised a family in Brookhaven; they lived in the same house for over 60 years and were members of St. Martins in the Field Episcopal Church for over 60 years.

She and her husband travelled to Eqypt, Europe, Tahiti, Bora Bora, South and Central America, Canada, and across the United States.

In April 2017 she moved to an independent living community in Atlanta, and two and a half years later she relocated to Augusta, Georgia to be closer to her family.
