Biography

1820 Census for Cabell County - no figures for household.

In 1823, Green Roberts paid taxes totaling 12 cents in Cabell County for one white male and 1 horse.[1]

A Greenwood Roberts and a Green Roberts purchased items from the estate of John Wilson in 1823. [2]

Green Roberts is listed in the tax rolls of Cabell County, Virginia in 1830. However, he is not a head of household (not listed in the census of the same year).[3] My assumption is that he is older than 16 years old but did not own any property to tax. His tax bill was zero.[4]

On April 25, 1836, Green Roberts sold land to William Beckitt Trace Fork of the Mud River (patented on September 29, 1829) for $1.[5]

Research

Green Roberts mentioned in will of Thomas Roberts of Putnam County, 1869 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-H175-K?i=197&wc=M6DN-TM9%3A179687101%2C179700701%3Fcc%3D1909099&cc=1909099 (likely younger Green Roberts son of Gabriel Roberts)

possible brother to Gabriel Roberts, father of a Green Roberts born in 1830 in Cabell County.

his land on Mud River placed him near Edmund and Michael Roberts
