Douglas Francis Roberts was born on 28th May 1877 at Plymouth, Devon, England. His parents were Jephthah Roberts and Mary Martyn. ^[1]

Arrived in Australia, aged 5, with his parents and four siblings on the "Earl Granville" 18th April 1883, at Maryborough, Queensland. They left Plymouth, Devon on 6th January 1883. ^[2]

Douglas Francis Roberts married Kate Woodcraft on 25th November 1903 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.^[3]

Douglas Francis Roberts was a reverend minister of the church and two of his sons followed him in that calling. He had to bury his eldest son in 1941 as reported in "Cairns Post" on Friday 25th July 1941:

Mr. Douglas Francis Woodcraft Roberts, a well-known architect of Brisbane, died yesterday at the residence of his parents. Rev. D. F. and Mrs. Roberts, of The Manse, Gordonvale. Deceased, who was 35 years of age, was architect to the Ipswich Hospital Board. He came north six weeks ago for health reasons. Two brothers. Rev. W. R. W. Roberts, of Hughenden, and Rev. M. W. Roberts, of Young, New South Wales, are in the Presbyterian Ministry. His only sister, Mrs. P. J. Skerman, lives at the Gatton Agricultural College. The funeral will leave St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Gordonvale, at 2.45- o'clock this afternoon. Rev. W. McPheat will officiate at the church and graveside.^[4]

Rev. Douglas Francis Roberts died on 25th May 1968 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. ^[5] He was cremated on 27th May 1968 and a memorial laid at Pinnaroo Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium, Bridgeman Downs, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.^[6]
