In the 1920 United States Census in the household of Lucinda E Roberts, May, Kearney, Nebraska, United States; citing sheet 5A, family 66, NARA microfilm publication T625 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,820,993., the following grandchildren are listed as living with Mrs. Roberts: Nettie D Mead, age 11; Alexander Mead, age 8; Anna M Mead, age 6. The first names of the children correspond to the surviving children of Alexander and Abigail (Roberts) McCoul. Why the surname of Mead is indicated is not known but it appears that these individuals are the children of Alex and Abbie McCoul, as the names, place of birth and birth years match to the known birth years of the surviving children who were taken to Norman, Nebraska after the drowning deaths of Mr & Mrs. Alexander McCoul and two of their children.
