He is the son of Elijah Roberts and Elizabeth Warren. ^[1]

Robert was born in 1769. Robert Roberts ... He passed away in 1850.

In 1797 and 1798 Robert Roberts paid taxes in Montgomery County, Ga on 100 acres. Amount paid was 40 cents per year. Also listed is a Josiah Roberts also of Montgomery County. (Relationship not determined, if any).

The 1830 Ware County, Ga census records the household of Robert Roberts as follows:

• Male 60-69 (1)
• Female 50-59 (1)
• Male 10-14 (1)
• Female 20-29 (2)

The above would place Robert Roberts birth year to be between 1770-1779. There is no indication that he used a middle name of Stock.

Also listed on the 1830 Ware County census are Gray S. Roberts and John Roberts, (P.S)

The 1840 Ware County census includes the following:

• Male 80-89 (1)
• Female 70-79 (1)
• Male 20-29 (1)
• Female 20-29 (1)
• Male 5-9 (2)
• Male under 5 (1)

The female may be Nicey Roberts who appears in the 1850 census by name. The Male 20-29 is unknown but possibly Nicey's husband and the children may be Robert Roberts' grandchildren.

• 1850 U.S. Federal Census, Div 89 Ware, GA, Family 279, living with possible daughter in law Nicey Roberts as she appears in the 1840 census with her children. Nicey subsequently appears in later census records with the noted children.

Research Notes

• Robert Roberts middle name is believed to be Stock.

• Barbara Roberts has also been referred to as Purlisa (Barbara) Gray. The origins of the Stock portion of the name is unknown. Robert Stock Roberts appears to have possible brother named Gray S. Roberts who lived in Mississippi.

*More research is required to determine if this Robert family is a branch of the Pierre Robard family.

• I have placed these individuals together with the hope that there are Roberts descendants who have Y tested.
