Biography

James was described as a blacksmith James was convicted of steeling a sheep in 1814 in Monmouth County in 1814 and Sentenced to hang. Sentence changed to life in Australia. Shipped on Indefatigable 2 arrived NSW 26th April 1815. He was a blacksmith and went to work at stone hill farm as blacksmith/mechanic. He was granted ticket of leave 1825. James was a servant of William Bowman who was a wheelwright on a property at Sutton Forest NSW. James was assigned to him as a mechanic and blacksmith.
