Sarah Elizabeth (Roberts) Prater was born in 1854 in White, Tennessee, United States, daughter of William Roberts (1822 - 1900) and Harriet (Owens) Roberts (1824 - 1860).
Sarah married Simpson Prater (1853 - <1900).[1]

In the 1880 census Sarah (age 26), Keeping House, was the wife of Simpson Prater in District 10, Grainger, Tennessee, United States.[2] Simpson Prater 27, wife Sarah Prater 26, daughter Dora Prater 2, sister Martha Prater 18, brother-in-law Samuel Roberts 20.
In the 1900 census Sarah (age 46) was the widowed head of household in White, Tennessee, United States.[3] Sarah E Prater 46, son Limon Prater 17, son Malici Prater 16, daughter Ola Prater 12, son Samie Prater 9, daughter Lizzie A Prater 7, son Claud Prater 2.
In the 1910 census Sallie (age 56) was the widowed head of household in Civil District 2, White, Tennessee, United States.[4] Sallie Prater 56, son Lambert Prater 26, son Sam Prater 18, daughter Lizzie Prater 16, son Claud Prater 12.
In the 1920 census Sallie (age 64) was the widowed mother of Lemmon Prater in Civil District 2, White, Tennessee, United States.[5] Lemmon Prater 27, mother Sallie Prater 64, sister Lissie Prater 26.
Sarah died on 22 Apr 1924 in White aged ~69. She is buried in Frasers Chapel Cemetery, White County, Tennessee.[6]
