Research Notes

Disputed Origins: As observed by Elizabeth Shown Mills in "A Husband for Phoebe Jefferson": "No genealogist has yet succeeded in identifying her [Mary Frances Robertson's] birth family, to the knowledge of this researcher."[2]

The Jamestowne Society recognizes Rev. George Robertson as a Qualifying Ancestor,[3] but does not list a daughter other than "Elizabeth, Mrs. Herbert". In looking through sources listed for this profile, as well as those of George Robertson and Mary Worsham, only the FindAGrave memorial for Mary Frances (Robertson) Jefferson lists George and Mary (Worsham) Robertson as her parents, and it does not provide any sources or narrative to support the connection.[4]

Therefore, their profiles (Robertson-3419, Worsham-155) have been detached from this one.

Hi! I have detached the profiles of George Robertson & Mary Worsham as her parents (and added Research Notes about that). A comment in 2018 noted that her parents are not known, and to date the only source that shows them as her parents (FindAGrave) does not include any sources or narrative. If evidence to support that they are her parents surfaces, please post!
