Agnes Robertson, daughter (7th child) of John Robertson and Agnes McKellar, was born/baptised on 12 Nov 1840 in Abbey Parish, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. ^[1]

It would appear that Agnes' mother died when she was very young, as her father, John, had re-married to Ann Ferguson by 1843. Possibly she died soon after giving birth to Agnes

In the 1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census, Agnes, age 10, was living at 1 Cross Street, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, with her father, step-mother, and siblings: ^[2]

Research Notes

Note: It is odd that Agnes does not show up in the 1841 census record with her (?widowed) father - she would have only been about 6 months old by then - was she being cared for by another family, or were both she and her mother visiting elsewhere?
