George was a son of James Robertson, registrar of slaves in Demerara, and his wife Maria Catherine Johanna; he was baptized at St George, Demerara, on 10 Aug. 1813. He died nine days after his 49th birthday and was buried at The Point, Aden, on 11 Jan. 1862.
He was an officer in the 25th Bombay Native Infantry. Aden was then part of the Bombay Presidency.
