Biography

Clara Marie Robertson was born in 1929 in Franklin County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Euell Robertson and Nannie McGuire.

Clara's mother died in 1935 and her father left to join the merchant marine, leaving his children to be raised by their grandparents. Clara, and her siblings, inherited some land from those McGuire grandparents.

She married William Dewey Kingery in 1953 in Roanoke, Virginia. He was the son of Isaac D. Kingery and Ada McGuire. There is absolutely no relation between Ada McGuire and Nannie McGuire. Ada descends from a line of McGuire's tracing back to Pennsylvania. Nannie descends from a line of McGuire's that had been in Franklin Co., VA since the late 1780's.

She passed away in 1989 and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, VA.
