a Major in the 78th Highlanders and 96th Regiment. He was present at the capture of Java. Charles Robertson was born 26th July, 1790, and married on the 12th August, 1816, Helen Cruikshank, who died at Kindeace, 1860, fourth daughter and co-heir of Patrick Cruikshank, Esq. of Stracatheo. Major Robertson died 17th October, 1868, and was buried at Rosskeen.[1]
