Biography

Christian was christened on April 11, 1748 at Nigg Parish in Kincardineshire, Scotland.

Christian married David Bell at Banchory Ternan Parish in 1769.[1][2] She was living at Banchory Ternan at the time.

Research Notes

This profile originally gave an alternate birth date of 1 April, 1748.

The evidence for the hypothesis that Christian christened at Nigg in 1748 was the same who married David Bell in 1769 is weak. There is no other likely baptismal record from Kincardineshire for a Christian Robertson between 1730 and 1755 when she was almost certainly born. However, Nigg is farther from Strachan than may be expected, and there were Robertsons having Children in Banchory Ternan parish during the time frame that Christian was probably born. Perhaps her baptism was not recorded.
