Biography
William was born in Charles County, Maryland around 1741 (assuming age 21 at marriage) and he married Susannah Dement on 12 December 1762 at Trinity parish (Episcopal)[1] Their marriage record stated that William was the son of Richard Robey and Susannah, the daughter of William Dement.
William and Susannah had the following children, according to Trinity church records:[2]
- George Dement Roby, born 20 December 1763
- Charles Roby, born 14 May 1766
- Elisabeth Roby, born 18 January 1768
- Townley Roby, born 1 January 1770
- Katherine Roby, born 10 December 1771
- Truman Roby, born 24 August 1773
- Cornelius Roby, born 26 January 1775
- Aquilla Roby, born 9 December 1777
- Hezekiah Roby, born 10 December 1779
- Mary Roby, born 29 October 1781
- Deborah Roby, born 16 August 1783
The family record continued: "Susannah Roby, consort of William Roby, departed this life August the 17th 1784."
William wrote his will in Charles county and died in 1808.[3]

Robey-352 also has no spouse or children, so it is most likely the same person but was submitted as a placeholder by someone who did not have full details about his family. It is very unlikely that there were two living children with the same name.
