Biography

Marie Robichaux was born on 9 August 1835 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, United States. Her parents were Eugene Robichaux and Cesaire Morvant.[1][2]

She married Pierre Francois Rivette, son of Pierre Rivette and Marie Scholastique Maillet, in Lafourche Parish. They applied for a marriage license on 8 April 1854 in Thibodeaux,[3] and were married on 1 May 1854 in Raceland.[4]

The family was enumerated in the 9th Ward, Lafourche Parish, during the 1860 census.[5] In 1870 they were living in the household of Mary Rivet, probably her mother-in-law.[6] By 1880 their children were on their own, and they had their own household together.[7] They lived in Lockport, Lafourche Parish, in 1900.[8]

She was widowed in 1905.[9]

The 1920 census shows her living with her daughter Alida's family.[10] She died on 18 December 1921 in Raceland.[11]
