Julia was born in 1838, the daughter of Joseph Rabedew and Marie Raimond. Although Joseph Robidoux and his wife Marie Marguerite Raimond were married in Canada and had some of their children there, census records suggest that Julia was born in New York.[1] Census data from 1850 and 1855 identify the family's residence as New York state. The 1850 US census for Chesterfield, New York includes the family of 55 year old Joseph Rabbideau, a "Nailer" born in Canada. They include his wife Margaret (50), son Oliver (15) and daughters Angeline (17) and Julia (11).[2] The New York state census of 1855 includes the family of "Joseph Robidoux," a 59 year old farmer born in Canada: Joseph, his wife Margaret (56), daughter Julia (17, born in Essex), and son Oliver (18, a "Nailor" born in Canada).[3]
About 1856, she married Elijah (or Elzear) Lejeune, possibly in New York state. The family eventually moved to Montague, Massachusetts. Census data from 1880 shows the family living in Montague, at that time with 6 children: Joseph (23, born in Vermont); daughters Mary Jane (16), Georgianna (11), and Lena (11) all born in Connecticut, and son Henry (5) and Sarah (2) both born in Massachusetts. [4] Two additional children, daughter Nellie[5] and son Wallace[6], were born there. The family remained in Montague for the next several decades.[7][8]
She died of heart disease August 28, 1912, in Montague, Massachusetts.[9]
