Biography

Mabel was born in 1867. She was the daughter of James Douglas Robinson and Gertrude Fennell.

She was baptised on 27 February 1867 at Chittoor, Madras, India^[1].

In the 1881 Scotland Census she was recorded living with her parents, six siblings and one servant at Rothesay Place, St George, Midlothian, Scotland. She was aged 14.

Her father died in 1894.

She married Captain Frederic Gordon on 11 November 1897 at St Mary, Harrow, England, after Banns^[2]. The witnesses were H. O. D. Davidson and Gertrude Robinson.

They had about two children.

England and Wales Census, 1911: Recorded at Goojerat Barracks, Station Hospital, Circular Rd, Colchester. Aged 44.

Her husband died in 1927.

Mabel's last will and testament was dated 20 January 1928. She passed away in 1931 at the age of about 64^[3] and was buried at Nairn Cemetery, Nairn, Highland, Scotland^[4].

Her will was proved on 22 May 1931 with confirmation to Ian Douglas Strathearn Gordon, lieutenant HM Army^[5]. Value of Estate: £792 4s. 11d.
