Biography

William and Emeline had 12 children of whom 2 sons died at birth and 4 daughters died at birth. There was a 13th child named Uncle Peter McCullough, black, who was remembered and carried down to the the fourth generation James Marion Robinson, III [1]

William Smith Robinson's parents are uncertain but could be either: Robert Robinson and Mary Kelsey or James Forney Robinson and Jane (Unknown). Both families were close in residence but available records are not clear.

They were also known in adjacent York County which has easily accessible records and excellent assistants. It may be possible to uncover some information inthe Chester County, South Carolina Courthouse basement where 18th century ledgers are haphazardly stacked among the dust. The local historians refuse to allow them to be copied or removed to a better holding site.

He is buried with his wife and daughter Harriett Ann at Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church, Chester Co., South Carolina. The photo on this memorial shows the placement of these stones, being furthest from the church and nearest the forest line, an early burial.
