Biography

Louvisa A. Robinson was born on 23 Apr 1823 in Dickson county, TN to William Robinson & Sarah Stafford.

She was 37 when she first married, to Squire Samuel Jackson, and they had 3 children together before he died 13 years later. She never remarried. They owned property in Burnet, Williamson and Bell counties in Texas. Louvisa eventually settled in Waco to be near her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Bettie) Monroe. Her son Stephen Edward (Ed), also resided in Waco. Louvisa died June 25, 1897 at home on south 14th st in Waco, TX. She was buried in First Street Cemetery, Waco., TX. This cemetery is right on the banks of the Brazos River, and many times over the years the river has flooded and moved or washed away stones in the cemetery. However, excellent records were kept by Fall and Puckett, funeral directors. [1]
