Herbert "Hub" Robinson was born 22 Apr 1844 in Clarendon County, SC.[1][2] In the 1850 census, his name is rendered as Hubbard, but in the 1860 census it is listed as Herbert E.[3][4] Another strange twist with his name is that his headstone renders his last name as Roberson, but all the census data clearly indicate the surname Robinson.[5] He married Adaline Drucilla "Ada" DuBose prior to 1864. They had three children: Margaret Rebecca "Becky" (1864-1950), Ellen Louvenia (1869-1952), and Patrick Henry "Pat" (1869-1936). Ada died in 1873. Hub then married Mary Agnes Coker. Their son, Michael Reardon "Reddin" Robinson, was born in 1874 and is in the Robinson-61515 family tree. Reardon died 30 Sep 1914 at age 40, less than 2 months after his father. The early death of Reardon and the death of his elderly father in the same year makes one wonder if they died of something contagious like the flu. It is also noteworthy that Reardon married Mary Sue Coker, perhaps someone related to his mother who was a Coker. Some genealogies show them with two additional children: James Preston "Press" (1874-1939), born the same hear as Reardon which must be his twin, and Caroline Agnes (1878-1941).[6] He died 8 Aug 1914.[7]
He served in the Civil War for the Confederacy in the 26th Regiment, SC Infantry. [8]
