Biography

Ada Maxin Robinson was born the 23rd June, 1869, in Shelby County, Alabama. Ada was the daughter of Samuel Martin Robinson and Mary Jones.[1]

Ada, age 10, appears in the 1880 Federal census in the household of her father Samuel M. Robinson (note in census surname is spelled Rolison), living in Shelby County, Alabama.[2]

Ada married James B. Crane, son of John Franklin Crane and Ellenor Spearman, on the 1st November, 1888, in Chilton County, Alabama.[3]

Ada, age 29, appears in the 1900 Federal census in Chilton County, Alabama, in the household of her husband James B. Crane.[4]

Ada, age 39, appears in the 1910 Federal census in Chilton County, Alabama, in the household of her husband, James B. Crane.[5]

Ada, age 52, appears in the 1920 Federal census in Chilton County, Alabama, in the household of her husband, James B. Crane.[6]

Ada, age 60, appears in the 1930 Federal census in Chilton County, Alabama, in the household of her husband, James B. Crane.[7]

Ada, age 69, appears in the 1940 Federal census in Chilton County, Alabama, in the household of her husband, James B. Crane.[8]

Ada and James B. Crane were the parents of the following children who lived to adulthood: Almedia Victoria Crane; John Clifton Crane; James Arthur Crane; Minnie Jeanette Crane; Hugh Dewey Crane; Winnifred Crane; Mary "Mae" Ellen Crane; Hudson Crane; and Claude Alfred Crane.[9]

Ada and James B. Crane were the parents of two son's who did not survive infancy. These infants share a common tombstone in the Antioch Cemetery, Pletcher, Chilton County, Alabama, which reads: Clyde Crane, born 16 February 1897, died 4 June 1898; and Infant son born 6 January 1908 and died 22 January 1908.[10]

Ada died on the 6th of November, 1958, in Chilton County, Alabama.[11]

Sources for Robinson-28442 list the name and date of her marriage to James B. Crane. They are the same person and should be merged.
