Biography
Luke was born in 1800. He is understood to be the son of Thomas Robinson and Sarah Lewis. Luke married Matilda Ann Faulkner on January 23, 1823 in Jasper County, Georgia. In 1850 Luke is enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [1] On the census he is identified as a Planter. He died in 1858 and is buried there. He is understood to have been a Primitive Baptist. Gravestone Inscription - "He died, as he lived for 30 years" [2]
Slaves
Luke was a slave owner and in 1850 held the following two persons: a fourteen year old girl (born 1836), [3] and a twelve year old boy (born 1838). [4]
