Biography
Born 1844 Keyingham
Edward Robinson was born in 1844 in Keyingham, Yorkshire East Riding, England. [1]
- Edward is the son of John Robinson a carter and his wife Mary Colley.
Edward Robinson in Keyingham 1851
In 1851 we find the Robinson family changed from 1841. John (44) is now identified as born in Burstwick, a carter employing 1 man, that is his son James19, and Mary is a little closer to his age (41) born in Keyingham: Richard and George have left home so that James 19, William 13 and Arthur 11 are the oldest children remaining at home: There are four young children born during the previous decade. Edward 7, Rebecca 5 (clearly the earlier Rebecca had died), Joseph 2 and baby Mary 5 months. There are also two lodgers, labourers for the Ordnance Survey preparing the first modern maps. [2]
Research
It is hard to find Edward Robinson after 1851 partly because there is an Edward Robinson born in Keyingham about four years later. BUT there in no death in the Patrington area.
Not found 1881 Birthplace Keyingham or Patrington (There is an Edward b 1848 in Keyingham, but his father? an older Edward is present) Similarly another pair of Edwards in Ottringham.
