Biography

Joseph was a Blacksmith.

Joseph Robinson was born 1722 in Massachusetts. He is the son of Gain Robinson and Margaret Watson. He was baptized 13 May 1722 At 1st church (son of "Gains").

He married (1) ABIGAIL KEITH October 10, 1746 in East Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA., daughter of JOSEPH KEITH and SUSANNAH FIELD. She died Unknown.

  1. JOSEPH ROBINSON, b. 1747; d. Abt. 1767.
  2. BENJAMIN ROBINSON, b. 1748; d. 1829.

He married (2) HANNAH SNOW 1759, daughter of ISAAC SNOW. She died Unknown.

Probate

Joseph Robinson, of Bridgewater, blacksmith died intestate and on 21 May 1766, his widow Hannah and James Robinson of Plymouth were granted the administration of his estate.[1]

His inventory was taken on 3 June 1766 in Bridgewater, which included blacksmith tools, and also a shoemaker's shop.[2]

In 1767, a list of claims and creditors was recorded. [3] An account of his estate by James Robinson and Hannah Robinson was recorded which included the sale of land, the personal estate selling for less than appraised, debts paid, funeral charges, doctor, necessaries to the widow, and administration fees. The balance went to the creditors.[4]

Robinson-673 and Robinson-342 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Joseph Robinson married second Hannah Snow, and Hannah is mentioned in his probate in 1766.
