Mildred Bell was born about 1740, in Sussex county, Virginia, a daughter of George Robinson (1675-1718) Mildred married James Bell, born 1735, in Sussex, a son of John and Hannah Bell and grandson of John Bell and Ann (Bennett) Bell. Children of Mildred and James include:
- Hannah Bell, born June 2, 1758, in Sussex county, died 1806, married Lemuel Burkett
- Balaam Bell, born January 4, 1765, in Sussex county, died after April 5, 1800, married Penelope Turnage
