Biography

Robertha ""Bertha" Robinson was born 24 Jan 1899 in Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa.[2] She was the daughter of William Robinson and Emma Hurley.[2] As of 8 Jun 1900, Bertha lived with her parents at 317 East Maple Avenue in Ottumwa, with her siblings, Walter (age 18), Charlie (age 15), Nellie (age 14), Martha (age 10), Ida (age 9), Neal (age 7) and Lenora (age 4), as well as her married sister, Lillie (age 22), and her husband, William Robinson, and their son, Lewis Ray (age 1).[3] All of them continued to reside in that home in 1901, with her father working as a carpenter and her brother, Walter, and brother-in-law, William, working as "molders" at Dain Manufacturing Company.[4]


She married James Maduras in Ottumwa, 16 Aug 1916.[5]

Robbinson" (15, born Sep 1884), "Nellie Robbinson" (14, born Feb 1886), "Martha A Robbinson" (10, born Nov 1889), "Ida May Robbinson" (9, born May 1891), son "C.A. Robbinson" (7, born Jun 1892), "Lenora Robbinson" (4, born Jan 1896) and "Rubertha Robbinson" (1, born Jan 1899). Also living with them are their daughter, "Lillie R.
