John Robinson was born in Lincolnshire, England.
John was born in 1869[1] in Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England, where he lived with his parents, Thomas Robinson and Diana Smith.[2] In 1881 "Richard" lived in Barnetby-le-Wold with his grandparents, Thomas and Mary Smith.[3]

John married Emily Alice Thompson in 1895.[4] The family lived in Shelf, Yorkshire, in 1901. John was an engine tender at a stone quarry.[5] By 1911 they lived in Thornton, Yorkshire, and John had become a farmer.[6]
