Biography

Richard Robinson was christened on 20 Mar 1814 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. He was the son of Richard Robinson (toolmaker of Prescot) and his wife Elizabeth, and a brother of Judith Robinson (bef.1822-).

Richard married Elizabeth Hughes on 28 Jul 1834 at Farnworth Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Both were of the local parish; Richard was a tool maker, Elizabeth a spinster. The witnesses were Richard Leadbetter and Jane Tithers.

Their daughter Ann was christened on 30 Aug 1835 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as tool maker, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their daughter Ellen was christened on 1 Oct 1837 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as tool maker, and the family's address as Eccleston. Little Ellen died in 1838, and was buried on 28 Dec 1838 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her age was recorded as 1¼, and her address as Eccleston.

Their presumed son Daniel was born in 1839 in Prescot district.[1] He died at 5 months old, and was buried on 18 Mar 1840 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His address was recorded as Eccleston.

Another son Daniel was born in 1841 in Eccleston, Lancashire.[2]

By June 6th 1841, the family was living in Hackley Moss, Eccleston. Richard was a journeyman tool maker; baby Daniel was 4 months old.
