Biography

Hettie (Robison) Query was an Ohioan.

Hettie was born in 1830. She passed away in 1881.

In the 1850 census Hetty (age 23) was in Salt Creek, Holmes, Ohio, United States.[1]

In the 1870 census Hettie (age 44), Keeping House, was in Mifflin, Ashland, Ohio.[2] Hettie Ann Robison was the youngest of 10 known children of William and Elizabeth (nee ?) Robison of S. Huntingdon Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA.

In the 1880 census Hatty (age 53), Keeping House, was the wife of John Query in Mifflin, Ashland, Ohio, United States.[3]

Three Robison families were shown in the 1786 tax and 1790-1810 census records of S. Huntingdon Twp.

The William Robison family migrated from Westmoreland Co., PA to Vermillion Twp. abt 1816. William had purchased land there in 1815.

Hettie Robison was born 1825-1830 in Vermillion Twp.

When Hettie was abt 5 months old her father William died. I have been unable to locate his grave, but suspect he may have been one of the first burials in Vermillion Cemetery (I'm not sure of the actual date of the 1st burial).

Hettie's mother Elizabeth died 1845-1846. Online transcriptions show a Elizabeth ROBERTSON (common surname variant) buried in Vermillion Cemetery that might well be either her mother Elizabeth or the 1st wife of James Robison(Hettie's Uncle). (The Elizabeth listed in the transcription is shown to be buried next to Robert, son of James and Elizabeth. A portion of this headstone is buried underground as was noted in the transcription.)

Hettie married John Query in Richland Co., OH in 1845. John and Hettie were parents of 7 known children; William, John W, Hester J, Mary Elizabeth, Richard S, George Ervin and Margarett.

Hettie and John lived in Salt Creek Twp. Holmes Co., OH 1850-1860 and then moved to Perrysville, Ashland Co. by 1870 and are there in 1880.

Hettie's husband John Query died 1894. I have yet to locate where he is buried. John was born in PA abt 1824. His father (also John) was born 1770-1775 in Ireland and his mother in PA. My research finds the John Query (Sr) family in S. Huntingdon Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA. 1820-1830's.

I believe the Query and Robison families very likely knew one another in Westmoreland Co., PA
