Biography

In 1919 the Covington Leader stated that "First State Bank was founded after the First National Bank surrendered its charter. First State Bank President was R.M. Robison."

Robert Melville Robison is listed as a farmer, owning his own farm at Covington, Tipton County, TN in the 1920 Census. He is living with wife Mineola and two children, Rachel and R. M. Robison, Jr.

In the 1930 census, RM Robison and wife Minnie live alone and are still farming. There are two male Black servants counted with their household. Their home is valued at $9,000 and they own a radio set.

::Son of Rev. Hugh Harris and Martha Ellis Robison, Robert became a banker and a farmer, according to his death certificate. In 1895 he married Mineola A. Dickson in Tipton County, Tennessee. They became parents to three children: James Fentress (who died as an infant), Rachel Adaleene, and Robert Melville Robison, Jr.
